Nicole Horn is a former business owner and current Democratic candidate for Georgia Labor Commissioner. Over the course of her life Nicole has waitressed at Waffle House, sold knives door to door, leased corporate apartments, and grown a small business, to name just a few jobs. Nicole understands what it’s like to count every penny from an hourly job, to balancing a budget for a business. These experiences inform her work and how she plans to lead the Department of Labor. After college she worked as a television reporter in Dothan, Alabama, and then at WMAZ in Macon. While at WMAZ, Nicole covered Robins Air Force Base during the events of 9-11 and the period following. In 2002, Nicole married and began working with her husband to build a business helping colleges and universities select programs that would lead to jobs for adult students, and then market and recruit for those programs. Her company worked with dozens of universities across the country and employed more than 50 people over more than 15 years. The firm grew to more than $3 million a year, and was sold in 2017. Nicole lives in Atlanta with her husband, Jon, and their two kids Gavin (15) and Hayden (13). She loves reading, writing, and spending time outdoors hiking with her family.
